What does Sullivan County Habitat for Humanity do?
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization that works in partnership with communities to build and renovate decent, affordable housing.
Our Sullivan County affiliate benefits from belonging to a large service organization but its vision is purely local and our homes are built with old-fashioned Sullivan County hospitality and hard work.
Whether it's individuals donating their labor and experience or small businesses, corporations and individual donors providing the money and materials needed to build a Habitat home, our projects work because our friends know that strong communities depend on good neighbors.
Habitat's partner families invest hundreds of hours of labor ("sweat equity") building not only their own homes but also the homes of others. Their mortgages are a "renewing resource" that's paid into a Habitat Revolving Fund and used to build the next family's home.
To volunteer, give us a call at (845) 791-8305 or send an email to: SCHabitat@gmail.com. If you'd like to be a Habitat homeowner, please fill out this quick form and we'll send you an application. Thank you for your interest!
